Speaker:

Professor LI Chenjian (李沉简) attended the 8-year program at the Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) and spent his pre-med years at Peking University. He received his Ph.D. from Purdue University and his postdoctoral training at Rockefeller University. Dr. Li was first Assistant Professor and then Associate Professor at the Dept. of Neurology and Neurosciences at Weill Medical College of Cornell University before being recruited as Associate Professor and later Aidekman Endowed Chair Professor of Neurology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. Currently he is also a professor at the joint Center for Life Sciences (CLS) of Tsinghua and Peking Universities. Dr. Li has been awarded the National Research Service Award (USA), the C.H. Li Memorial Award Fellowship, and student-voted teaching award. He is also an author of two books and has received a National Book Award in China for his translation of a book by Dr. Richard Feynman, a Nobel Laureate in Physics.
